Papa Did It Is Now a Registered Trademark in the United States

It's official. Papa Did It is now a federally registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
What started as a family passion for authentic, old-world cured meats has reached a new milestone. On April 28, 2026, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Papa Did It, Inc. a federal trademark registration under Registration No. 8,235,936 on the Principal Register — the highest level of trademark protection in the United States.

What This Means for Our Customers

This registration is more than a legal formality. It is a promise. When you see the name "Papa Did It" on a package of basturma, beef prosciutto, sudjuk, or any of our artisanal smoked meats, you can trust that it comes from our family kitchen in Staten Island, New York — made with the same recipes, the same care, and the same uncompromising standards we have upheld since day one.
A registered trademark means that no one else can use our name to sell products that are not ours. It protects you, the customer, from imitations. And it protects the craft that our family has spent years perfecting.

From Family Kitchen to Federally Protected Brand

Papa Did It was born from a simple belief: real meat deserves real time. No shortcuts. No fillers. No artificial preservatives. Just premium cuts, traditional spices, and the patience to let nature do its work.
Our products — including air-dried basturma, slow-cured beef prosciutto, hickory-smoked turkey balyk, and handcrafted beef jerky — are made in small batches right here in New York. Every piece is hand-cut, hand-spiced, and crafted using techniques passed down through generations of Eastern European tradition.
The trademark registration under International Class 29 covers our full range of artisanal meat products: sausages, smoked sausages, air-dried sausages, sudjuk, smoked meats, preserved meats, beef jerky, and processed meat. This means the Papa Did It name is legally protected across every product category we serve.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

We filed our trademark application on April 3, 2025 — just one year after launching our online store. Receiving federal registration in just over a year is a testament to the originality and distinctiveness of what we have built.
This milestone belongs not just to our family, but to every customer who believed in us from the beginning. Every order, every five-star review, every word-of-mouth recommendation helped us get here. Thank you for being part of the Papa Did It family.

What's Next

This is just the beginning. With our brand now officially protected, we are focused on:
Expanding our product line with new small-batch creations
Growing our nationwide shipping to reach more craft meat lovers across America
Continuing to uphold the quality and authenticity that earned us this recognition
